Description
August 2019 marks the fifth time that the World Congress in Extensive Reading meets, following congresses in Kyoto, Seoul, Dubai and Tokyo at 2 year intervals. The event is a focal point for all concerned with the extensive reading approach -- teachers, scholars, writers, and publishers -- who gather under one roof for a conference dedicated to this approach to language learning.

The Extensive Reading Foundation carries out activities that promote the extensive reading approach to language learning. This includes the biennial Congress, awards to the best graded readers each year (The Language Learner Literature Awards), The Milne Award for Significant Achievement in the Field of Extensive Reading, grants for setting up experimental programs in new regions, and the MReader.org quiz program for checking reading progress.
